Participants will learn safety and rescue techniques designed to prevent and respond to a variety of aquatic and health emergencies.
Lifeguarding Course Prerequisites include the following: Must be at least 15 years old by the end of the course. Swim 300 yds (12 lengths) continuously, using either front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of the two. Tread water using legs only for two minutes Complete the following in under 1 minute and 40 seconds without using goggles: Swim 20 yards, retrieve a 10 lb object submerged in 7-10 feet of water, return to the starting point and exit the pool without using ladder or stairs. Participants must attend each day of the course, demonstrate all skills and pass the written exams to successfully complete the course and receive their certification.
