Youth Basketball 2026 - 2027 Season
The Parks and Recreation Youth Basketball program accepts all East Hartford children who register by the deadline. Registration after the deadline is accepted only if space is available. All players must attend a player evaluation before being placed on a team.
Evaluations: Nov 30 - Dec 2. Registered players will receive an email reminder for evaluations. No refunds are permitted following evaluations. 1-2 weeks after evaluations, a coach will contact the parent/guardian with team information. When placed on a team, the coach will notify players of which weekday night practice will be during the season. They will also be given a game schedule.
The season is January - March
Boys 3 &4 | Girls 2, 3, 4
Mandatory Skill Evaluation Day: Tuesday, Dec 1, 5:30 - 7:30 pm at EH Community Center.
Games- Saturday mornings, January - March at EHMS.
Practices- 1 week night practice per week practice date/time TBD.
This level uses the lower hoops. No standings are kept for the program. Includes T-shirt, instruction, and officiating. Season ends with a fun hotshot contest and pizza party.
Boys 5 & 6 |Girls 5 & 6
Mandatory Skill Evaluation Day: Wednesday, Dec 2 at 5:30 - 7:30 pm at EH Community Center.
Boys 5 & 6- Standings are kept, and playoffs are at the end of the season in March.
Games- Saturday mornings, January - March at EHMS.
Practices- 1 night practice per week; practice date/time TBD.
Includes T-shirt, instruction, and board-certified officiating.
Girls 5 & 6- In recent years, there have not been enough girls registered in town for a town-only league. We partner with neighboring towns to have a full game schedule.
Games- Most of the games are played at EHMS on Tuesday nights or Saturday mornings.
Practices- 1 weeknight practice. Location and time of practice TBD.
Includes t-shirt, instruction, and board-certified officiating. End-of-season hot shot contest and pizza party.
Boys 7 & 8
Mandatory Skill Evaluation Day: Monday, November 30 at 5:30 - 7:30 pm at EH Community Center.
Games- Played on Tuesday & Thursday nights at EHMS.
Practices- 1 night practice per week; practice date/time, location TBD.
Program includes T-shirt, instruction, and board-certified officiating. Standing are. kept; playoffs are in March, at the end of the season.
Girls 7 & 8
Mandatory Skill Evaluation Day: Wednesday, Dec 2 at 5:30 - 7:30 pm at East EH Community Center.
* If numbers are low, there won't be an evaluation night.
Games- Played on Tuesday & Thursday nights at EHMS.
Practices- 1 night practice per week; practice date/time, location TBD.
Program includes T-shirt, instruction, and board-certified officiating.
* In recent years, we have had enough girls to make up 1 team. We partner with surrounding towns to make a game schedule. The program includes T-shirts, instruction, and board-certified officiating. There is a hot shot contest and pizza party at the end of the season.
